Volunteer for Civic Service Day: Sept. 11
In addition to being
Parent Back-to-School-Day, September 11 is also Service Day for MUS students. The Civic Service Organization is hosting volunteer opportunities for groups of Lower School and Upper School students at nonprofit organizations across the city.
Student volunteers will meet at 8:15 a.m. in the Hull Lower School parking lot.
The school will provide a bus for volunteers serving at St. Columba Episcopal Camp and The Works Urban Farm. Volunteers for the other service projects who are unable to drive themselves will carpool with older MUS student drivers to and from the events.
All groups will return to MUS by 11:30 a.m.
There will be an MUS-affiliated adult chaperone at each event in addition to the employees of the nonprofit organizations. Students must sign up for the projects in advance, and a parental permission form is required for participation. These forms will be distributed in homerooms and are due back by Friday, September 6.
Please contact Civic Service Faculty Advisor Jonathan Large if you have any questions.
