Bubones Soar in Translation Exam

Six Owls earned prizes in the 2024 Vergilian Society Keely Lake Memorial Translation Exam. The contest consists of translating a passage from the writings of Vergil along with a short answer portion. This is the first time the Latin Department participated in the contest.
Nineteen schools from across the United States entered 169 high school students in the exam. The Summa Cum Laude designation came with a $50 prize and membership in the Vergilian Society, Magna Cum Laude a $25 prize and membership in the society. Cum Laude honorees received certificates of commendation.
