Ferebee Named Swim Head Coach

David Ferebee has been named head coach of the swim team. Chair of the Physical Education Department and assistant to the athletic director dealing with logistics, Ferebee brings extensive knowledge of athletic development and experience as a parent of two successful competitive swimmers. He will be an excellent leader of a swim program that serves both our year-round club swimmers and our seasonal swimmers.
Since his arrival at MUS in 1999, Ferebee has played vital roles for the school, including serving as an athletic trainer and, during the pandemic, coordinator of mitigation protocols. He graduated from The Ohio State University in 1992 with a bachelor’s in exercise science and a minor in human nutrition and earned a master’s in exercise and sports science from The University of Memphis.

Before coming to MUS, he was an athletic trainer at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Center and worked with college and professional sports teams.

He and his wife, Kelli, have supported their children’s swimming careers. Their son, Benton Ferebee ’18, recently graduated from Brandeis University, wrapping up four years on the Judges’ swim team; and their daughter, Quinn, a sophomore at St. Mary’s Episcopal School, swims competitively year-round as well as for the school.
