Phone Policy Enforcement

The existing cell phone policy will be strictly enforced during the 2024-25 school year. There are no “safe zones” for using a cellular device during the school day.
The policy, which is on page 55 of the U Book, can be found below.

CELL PHONES AND ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Cell phones may be brought to school, but they must be turned off during the academic day. Parents who need to contact their sons should call the appropriate school office. (See Messages, page 62.)

Media players and electronic games are not permitted at school and must not be used during the school day unless they are needed as part of a class project or demonstration.

The use of any electronic device (other than calculators approved by a math or science teacher), including but not limited to smartphones, smart watches, and tablet computers, will be considered prima facie evidence of cheating and will result in an Honor Council conviction, if such use during an exam, quiz, or test is proven.

Lower School students will continue to deposit their turned-off phones in the phone vault outside the Lower School office before the start of homeroom. Students can pick up their phones at 3:15 p.m. (2:15 p.m. Wednesdays).
