The Freshman/JV combo Owls faced Fairley on Monday night. The Owls fell to Fairley 26-13. Although the Owls lost, they were led by top performances by Walker Atkinson and Caleb Loudenbeck. The Owls trailed for the most part of game and came up short after a late rally. The Freshman Owls and the JV Owls both play CBHS next on October 21 at MUS. Freshmen play at 5:30 and JV at 7:00.
The JV Owls faced the White Station Spartans on Monday night. The Owls defeated the Spartans 20-12, led by top performances by Dhilan Madasu, Foster Flaherty, and Maddox Yarbrough. The Owls trailed early at half, but they fought back and dominated the 2nd half, allowing zero points. Next up for the JV Owls is Fairley in a combo game with the freshman on October 14 at home.
Despite a valiant comeback effort, the JV Owls fell to Christian Brothers last night, 12-7. The Purple Wave took a 12-0 lead into the half, but the Owls started moving the ball late in the third quarter following a Tanner Sherman interception deep in MUS territory. A 67-yard pass from Dhilan Madasu to Maddox Giel got the Owls close, and then after a pass from Madasu to Foster Flaherty, Sherman recovered a fumble in the endzone for the Owl touchdown. The Owls promptly got the ball back and threatened late, getting to the CBHS 24-yard line, but they could get no closer. Madasu finished with 189 yards on 10-14 passing, two going to Cannon Sherman for 70 yards. Despite a shaky start, the Owls fought back and showed some promise
